Since in January 2010, Ashley Communications have been working with Takeda Pharmaceuticals Europe delivering a broad range of activities across our core services of medical communications, medical education and medical publications.  The activities the team have recommended and executed have helped Mepact to achieve a strong start in an ultra orphan disease area which has received very little attention over the last 20 years.

Activities delivered have included:

• Internal launch symposium and training modules
• Key Opinion Leader profiling
• Advisory Boards, both strategic and clinical
• Congress symposia and debates, with newsletters
• Mode of action animation for booths and local meetings
• Administration videos, in different European languages
• Publications, considering the disease area and the place for Mepact as well as broader issues such as the challenges and cost of developing new drugs in small, rare diseases
• Expert Opinions in Osteosarcoma (www.ashleycomms.com/medical-publications/)
• Evidence Pack
• Mepact Meetings Manager resources for affiliates (www.ashleycomms.com/projects/mepact-meetings-manager/)
• Speaker Bureau management, providing supporting for affiliates for local meetings
• Digital and creative solutions for booths i.e. interactive case studies and video ‘vox pops’
• Building relationships with patient advocacy groups.

Many of these educational activities will continue in 2012 as Takeda Pharmaceuticals Europe continues to demonstrate their commitment to oncology. With over 100 patients now receiving Mepact, activities will focus on harnessing the experience across Europe to improve awareness and understanding, including the use of patient case studies, a Preceptorship Programme and a standalone meeting.

Ashley Communications now works across the Takeda Pharmaceuticals Europe oncology portfolio including Adectris^® (brentuximab vedotin) for Hodgkin lymphoma and systemic anaplastic large cell lymphoma, and orteronel (TAK-700) for castrate resistant prostate cancer.

In addition, the website has been built with the future very much in mind – it uses a technique called Responsive Design to ensure that it looks great & functions well on mobile as well as desktop.
